Conrad Lang has been living off the wealthy Senn family for years. First Thomas' childhood comrade, then caretaker of their holiday home in Biarritz, they use it as they please and he is satisfied.
But when his health deteriorates, when he begins to tell Simone, the young wife of the heir Senn, about childhood memories that do not quite correspond to the official history of the family, Elvira, the matriarch, proves strangely threatened. As if this harmless old fool carried within him the means to destroy it.
It is then that between Conrad and Simone will be born a strange friendship, bringing the young woman to face, for him, an Elvira much more dangerous than it seems.
