About

Rezo Films is an independent company founded by Jean-Michel Rey, Nadia Lassoujade and Philippe Liégeois, dedicated to the production and distribution of feature films. Since May 2024, with the arrival of Mathieu Llorens, Rezo's new majority shareholder, the company has set aside distribution to focus on production.

Distribution

In nearly three hundred films since its creation in 1992, Rezo has accompanied many young directors, as well as established filmmakers, in France and internationally. In 2004, Rezo presented four films that are emblematic of its work: Abdellatif Kechiche's L'Esquive, which was a hit with audiences and won four major César Awards, Saraband, Ingmar Bergman's last film, Eric Rohmer's Triple Agent and Philippe de Broca's Vipère au poing. Other films have marked the company's history: discoveries such as Atanarjuat and Mon Trésor, both winners of the Caméra d'Or, and films by renowned auteurs such as Pavel Lounguine and Volker Schlöndorff. But Rezo's DNA is largely made up of debut films: Catherine Corsini, Albert Dupontel, Gaspar Noé, Michel Piccoli, Marion Vernoux, Pascal Bonitzer, Catherine Breillat, Abdellatif Kechiche, Asia Argento, Xavier Dolan, Julie Delpy, Léa Fazer, Nathan Ambrosioni, Coralie Fargeat, Hafsia Herzi, Jeremy Clapin and many others... So many firsts that allowed us to participate in the birth of art, in the first steps of these young filmmakers who are now recognised around the world.

Production

Since its beginnings, Rezo Productions has been involved in ambitious projects as an executive producer, with a filmography that once again combines debut films with works by established directors. It includes films by Claire Denis, Claude Mouriéras, Jeanne Labrune, Albert Dupontel, Philippe de Broca, Patrick Rotman, Éric Rohmer, Catherine Corsini and Nicolas Boukhrief. More recently, Rezo has produced two notable films, renewing its desire to support authors in their first steps: Tropic by Edouard Salier and Ollie by Antoine Besse. The company continues its commitment to demanding feature film directors, while exploring other creative territories — short and medium-length films, documentaries and series.
