Mastur and Zahra grew up in southern Iraq, between the Tigris and the Euphrates. Just after their marriage, the Gulf War broke out. Mastur is conscripted, sent to the front. On the battlefield, he befriends Riad, a young Bagdadi soldier. Mortally wounded, Mastur makes Riad promise to watch over Zahra once the war is over...
