A small American town on the border of Canada.
Ray can finally offer his family the home of his dreams and soon leave their prefab. But when her husband, an avid gamer, disappears with their savings, she finds herself alone with her two sons, with no more resources.
While trying to find her husband's trace, she meets Lila, a young single mother of Mohawk origin, who offers her a way to make quick money : to smuggle illegal immigrants into the United States, to across the frozen Saint Lawrence River, located in the Indian Reservation.
Badly in need of money on the eve of the Christmas holidays, Ray agrees to team up with Lila.
However, the risks are high, because the police monitor the comings and goings, and the ice can give way at any moment...
